Come visit us folks!

Yup, this weekend - 8 & 9 August 2009, from 12.00pm to 7.30pm at Level 6 - Lot 10 Hawkers!

Its not that easy to MISS us, we're right in the middle of the town! So take a bus, taxi, lrt, monorail - either way, you will reach us.

This is also the first event of its kind for Lot 10 Management :-). So look out for big posters inside the mall and entrances with regards to our event! There will be postcards to be left at Starhill and Lot 10 Info Counters for all tourists.

There will be lucky draws for shoppers too! :-) So make sure you buy something from the traders - (of ANY amount) to be eligible for the cool lucky draw!! Prizes up for grabs whilst stocks last! Watch out for 10 CLEO goodie bags + 3 TOP 3 Winners prize!!

There will be security to cordon off the area (for both crowd traffic and vehicles), so dont worry about the area being so open :-) Music will be played throughout..so no one gets bored :-)

As mentioned, Tadaaaaaa.....here's the letter of invitation. So no more date postponement :-)

We're looking for more handmade items like (cute dolls, thsirts, canvas shoes, bags, picture frames, etc), collectible items (artsy stuff - Audrey Hepburn/Marilyn Monroe even Michael Jackson's pictures!), miniatures stuff like toy cars, memoribilias, postcards, etc. Even nice antiques, vintage stuffs and branded pre-loved items that are still in GOOD condition!

8 & 9 AUGUST VENUE HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED!

Simple word, but meaningful :-)

Remember about the Lot 10 incident not too long ago?


Wise men say, "LET BYGONES BE BYGONES.." and since we are human - bound to make errors and all, we believe in giving others a chance to prove themselves (even God want us to forgive and give chance..). After countless meet ups, chats and follow up, we are giving the management's a chance & offer to organize YOUTHOPIA event once again. This time will be at a designated place, indoor (no more canopies!).

For contigency plan, we have also planned to do one at Times Square in August, however, after checking out the venue and gathering feedbacks from some of you, most agreed that Lot 10 location is still the best. So we will go with the majority folks!

As prove to the Lot 10 Management's offer, we will post the letter of invitation by this week on this website. So watch out for it. The letter serves as confirmation of the DATE and will no longer be postponed!

We will be inviting the affected traders soon with separate offer :-)

For those newbies who wants to join us, we are opening up the invitation now :-) We will put up the details on how to join soon :-)

While we are writing this, the newly identified venue (6th floor) will be decorated with wall graffities (drawn by renowned artists) to reflect the spirit of youths. There will also be other decors being discussed subjected to the management's artists impression. The management will also be visiting on that day and provide their support! There will be announcements made to ALL YTL members/customers/staffs to visit us on that day. There will be buntings to be place on major entrances and flyers distributed on event day too.

There is also a special OFFER to all YOUTHOPIA traders, all food bought from the food court opposite the venue (there are 180 dishes of various prices to choose from), will be charged at flat rate of RM5 only with FREE 1 soft drink or mineral water. So tips for you traders, pick the most expensive one ya! Hahaha...but before you do just that, you gotta get a coupon from us :-)

So sign up with us folks!, this will be an event to remember. There will be performances and lucky draws as well. This mark the ultimate come back of Youthopia.

SOMETIMES THINGS HAPPENED FOR A REASON...

Remember in June when we announced that the event @ Lot 10 was cancelled and boy! We have been bombarded with spams and unhappy comments? No matter what we replied, we are still the bad organizer :-( It was NEVER OUR intention to cancel anything last minute and that was the huge blow to everything that we ever worked for!

Until recently another comrade just like us (another renown organizer) who was supposed to have their event held in July at the same venue - was cancelled too due to restrictions by the venue provider. Our hearts sincerely goes out to them - we perfectly understand the reason why.

So this situation speaks for itself. It was clearly proven that the fault wasnt ours. We (the organizers) were merely doing everything in our capacity, within our limitation - but sometimes things just didnt happen, and happens for a reason.

In view of what had happened to us in June, we fought relentlessly for weeks to save our reputation that was ruined because of one person that had since 'left' the company for good. We fought for reasonable compensation after what had happened to all our traders. Meetings after meetings, and talks after talks, messages after messages, emails after emails - we've finally reached a conclusion.

And the conclusion is..............

Stay tune for unexpected news on this website. We will share with you folks within this week.

Our only hope is that you are still with us after all that we have fought for :-)

Dear Readers,

Thank you for all the articles written about us after the major let down @ Lot 10. Something good will come up soon. Lets wait and see. However, we cant help but to feel thankful to these folks who have taken time to write long articles about us. We dont hate them at all. Serious!

We feel sorry that some have thought that we 'let' some of them down, and its not their fault to feel very upset (we're upset too). Especially when some of them joined us for the very first time.

This incident has given us an inspiration. Hence, we already have some plan rolled up in our sleeves, we will execute them one by one :-)

We dont believe in flyers to promote our events as most people would toss them into bins (been there, done that), we are thinking of a better one, and currently working on it.

And speaking of ethics and although its subjective, we gain nothing by being unethical. Do not be swayed by some 'reality' TV series which was meant to purely entertain you :-) We always shared the truth and though truth is not always welcomed, its better than keeping it hidden from you.


Thanks again for the inspiration. Your articles gives us ideas :-)

WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH, THE TOUGH GETS GOING

Say what you want, you may think we're some sadist people. Come on! after the chaotic cancellation last week we should at least wrapped ourselves in a cocoon, go jump of the cliff, or at least stay off the radar for a few years?

While we're waiting what's next from the Lot 10 peeps - we have just got to move on.

Entreprenuerial spirit is unstoppable. Just like Billy Ocean's song title (yeah, we're old fashioned),'When the going gets tough, the tough gets going...' We take every obstacles with pride. Well, the sun always shine after a bad thunderstorm right?

We will back soon. Stay tune for updates. Dont worry, you will still find us in KL (town area), as mentioned by some of you - you want TRAFFIC! So we will try to fulfil that :-)

As mentioned earlier - if you hate us, your perrogative. We have stayed true to what we believe in and will not stop until we achieve that.

WE GOT SHOT!

Yes, we have seen it all. The complaints, the feedbacks, even bad words thrown at us (spammed chat box) and everything in between.

No, we are not seeking any sympathy at all - we dont have anything to hide either, we are transparent through and through. For those who knew us, we are more than ready to share on why it happens.

If we were truly that bad - some of you wouldnt have joined us. We wouldnt resorted to refunding people's fees when something like this happens. We might as well run away and hide! For what? That's just not who we are. We have done our due diligence, we informed all via email and text messages. It was done at the very last hour, for we received the news very very late too. Imagined looking forward to the event and being at the supplier's getting ready with canopy and fixtures, only to be told (via text message) that the management have decided to postpone the event (or cancelled - no difference!) to a much later date? Imagined waiting for the venue provider representative in the middle of the night who promised to come but did not show up at all. All this happened the night before.

For those who didnt not received text message from us, that is because we do not have your number with us. Perhaps you did not register directly under Youthopia but with our co-organizer.

We reasoned things out with the provider only to be told that their decision is final. We are not only greatly affected for all the promotional materials we printed and goodies to be distributed - we even had ALL of you in mind when all these negotiations took place!

Of course we knew you are all prepared, baked your goodies, stocked up, etc! We were traders before, of course we will feel upset, cheated, conned etc. Because of this, we had no choice but to bring this matter up to the higher management of the mall for the impact is truly unbelievable!. We have never ever sent a nasty email before - but we did. If its any consolation - the matter is currently under their attention. We shall see what comes out of it. If need be, we might bring it to the press.

To those who think we suck, please do yourselves and ourselves a favour - dont join us - ever. Serious. We do not want to take your money either. We do not want to mislead you with empty promises that you will make big bucks or your stall will be swarmed with people who is dying to get your stuff when you join us. Dont do that. We do not want you to spam our chatbox later and accused us this & that. Dont waste your time. We will refund you (if you are one of the traders for 20/21 June) and please go.

Its human nature to blame the organizers when things gone wrong - not everyone knows things that happened behind closed doors to ensure that the bazaars that you all join - happens! The lucky ones will managed to pull through - but its not bed of roses for them either.

Its not our habit to point fingers at coorganizers, etc - in fact, fact is a fact - why hide the facts when its the truth? The truth is only known to us and the people that we have dealt with - of course you wouldnt know because you were not part of the negos right?

Unfortunately, we can't tell what others have in mind. Those who thought that we should have foreseen all these from happening (we should have third eye) or should defy all rules and regulations when dealing with venue providers, perhaps you were right. We should have run miles and miles aways when we 'smell' it. But being an opportunist, we always give others the benefit of the doubt. That is probably our biggest mistake.

We're beginning to think we were probably jinxed. Perhaps we are too nice to be taken for granted.

Like a true opportunists, we will not give up just because this happened. We are not perfect either. We never said we are.

For those who believed in us - who knew us, who stood by us, thank you for the support. For those who dont, and hated us for whatever reasons known to you - its okay too. No two humans are alike and we cant control what you want to say or do.

SORRY!

We regret that due to the unprofessional manners by Lot 10 peeps - have affected us greatly which led to the cancellation of June's event.

We were only told at the very last hour before canopy set up and we've never felt upset!

We have brought this matter to the attention of their management - as it is unethical to postpone the event at the very last hour before set up especially when all of us already made the preparations.

We have buntings, posters and banners printed already and its now becoming scraps - and now become no use! We have goodies to give away but now we are saddled with all of them at home!

To all good traders - we are in the same boat just like you. Let us stay united and show these peeps that we may be small traders but we are not weak!

Heartfelt apologies to all who look forward to visit us, we knew some of you look forward to visit us in this event and Thank you so much for those who believed in us and supported us all the way.
